  1. I looked pretty hard for Spiderman and couldn’t find it. Looks like it was hosted as live streaming on Marvel’s site a few years ago but the page is gone.

      • Okay, seriously – does it ever get boring, being that superbly awesome? I scoured the entire Internet for this and came up blank, and you’re all ba-bam! Thank you so much!

      • I have the dvd of the Toku Spider-Man series. As well as some old .avi format videos, if you guys need them. I like keeping multiple format copies just in case when possible.

    • @ SentaiFan

Glad I could help! But thank whoever Mister “Bleep Bloop” is instead! 😛 Lemme know what you thought if/when you get around to it, yeah?? I’ve been meaning to watch it for awhile myself! n~n

      @ Cel

.AVI would probably be an improvement, but it’s not exactly what I’d call an ideal format in today’s day and age either. Maybe consider encoding some .MKV raws (especially if you have the DVD9’s) if they’re not available online? Making softsubs of the Supaidaa Man translations onto better quality raws may be a good opportunity for someone new to get into fansubbing. (:

      • Watched Episode 1; looks and feels just like a cross between a vintage KR and a vintage Sentai series. Yes, watching the low-res FLV blown up on the big screen is – less than optimal; a softsubbed version would be a huge improvement, but I’m not complaining!

  2. Does anyone have softsub link/files for O-T’s Ginga episode 9-11 and Gingaanon’s Ginga S? Help me please, this series has been released by Crunch*r*** but I love O-T’s and GA’s sub. Stilln’t finish download it yet. Please, and thanks very much.

  3. These are all brilliant! Thank you for so much info. I just wish the different fansubs would work together so we don’t have two groups working on the same patches of shows…

    • Thank YOU! Happy to know someone appreciates it! (:

What do you mean by ‘patches’, by the way? Do you mean likeee… Eras? Because that usually just comes down to personal preference. Like for example, Shir (GUIS’ translator) is fond of 80’s generation Sentai so that’s what he tends to work on. Or if you meant groups working on shows that were already completely translated, well, the new subs are pretty much guaranteed to be an improvement so it’s not for nothing. n~n

      Like

      • Like multiple fan groups working on the same episodes of the same series (but independently).
Take Flashman, both Dead Fish and GUIS did episodes 1-5. Seems like a waste of time for GUIS since Dead Fish had already done it; GUIS could have worked on other episodes that hadn’t already been done.

        Like

      • Actually, not at all. DFF’s work was old hardsubbed .AVI files that used blurry looking television broadcast footage as raws. Not to mention the files aren’t easy to come by nowadays, anyway. GUIS’ version is pretty much an improvement in every way possible, y’know? So I think a better way to look at it is that we’re lucky enough to get a complete, consistent set of subs from a professional translator who likes Flashman. Food for thought. 😛

Pretty much every good group will see their projects through from beginning to end. Please keep in mind that this is a hobby, and that we take pride in our work and our choice of shows n-n

  4. I asked this a couple months ago, but I’ll ask it again! Is anyone aware of the difference between the episode versions of Goranger, JAKQ, and Flashman and the movie versions?

    Liked by 1 person

    • I am. Basically, the “movies” that are based on episodes are just the episode edited down from 24 minutes to roughly 20 minutes, and matted for theatrical release. Basically, there is nothing in the movie version that isn’t in the original episode, so the original episode is more complete than the movie version. The only real difference is the Flashman movies. The first Flashman movie is an original theatrical production, so that should be subbed by GUIS. And the second movie is a condensed version of episodes 15-18, so everything in it will be in the original episodes, but they might want to do it if they think it’s worthwhile or for the sake of completion, so you would have to ask them about it. For Goranger, the first three “movies” are episodes 6, 15, and 36 respectively. Movie 4 is “Goranger: Hurricane Bomb”, which is an original theatrical movie which has already been subbed by Mega Beast Empire which you can get here:

      After V 06, Juspion 15 and a film

The fifth Goranger film is an edited-down version of Episode 54, so the original episode is the “uncut” version of it. And the final Goranger film is Goranger vs JAKQ, which is an original theatrical production, and has already been subbed by GUIS and is available here:

      http://www.grownupsinspandex.com/forums/oneshots-38/goranger-vs-j-k-q-blu-ray-%5Bcompleted%5D-44/

As for the first JAKQ movie, it is just an edited-down version of episode 7, so the original episode is the “uncut” version. This is why when Toei put out the Japanese Super Sentai movie Blu-Ray set they only included Goranger Hurricane Bomb and Goranger vs JAKQ, as they were the only “real theatrical movies” for both series, and the original episodes are more complete than the movie versions of those episodes. That same reason is why the first Flashman movie is in the set, but the second isn’t as it is just episodes 15-18 edited-down. An easy way to tell a “real” movie from a “fake” one is to look at the framing of the scenes. If it’s a “real” movie, everything will look fine, but if it’s a re-edited episode, everything will look cropped and zoomed due to them matting a 4:3 tv episode to 16:9 for theatrical exhibition. Also, the video quality of the “Real” movies will be noticeably better than the “fake” movies, due to them being blown up to fit a movie screen.

While I can only speak for myself, why would we waste our time and effort subbing badly cropped “movies” when we have.or will sub the original, uncut, properly framed versions? For example, Rampage has subbed all of the Goranger “movies” already, in their uncut episodic form, and episode 7 of JAKQ is already in the release pipeline. And the “real” have been already subbed by our fiends in the aforementioned groups, so we have all of the bases covered. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

  5. SUBBING PROGRESS {20%} [ACTIVE]
    Grown Ups In Spandex (GUIS) = Episodes(s) 01 – 09 + Movie |41|
    MAIN TRANSLATOR: Shir
    LAST RELEASE: 07 – 16 – 16

    What mean of 41?

    • The remainder. For example, Flashman is 51 in length (50 episodes + 01 movie) right? And since G.U.I.S. released nine episodes and the movie (10), it becomes 51 – 10 = 41.

  6. You may want to put notes under some of the GUIS subs, such as Zyuranger. They deleted all of their subs and download links for any seasons that were officially/commercially licensed and subbed.

    • But they dropped Fiveman years ago :X Didn’t know about Turbo though, thanks for the heads up. I think we would’ve kept going regardless of whether they started it or not though ‘n~n

      • Well if MBE would continue it at some point, that’d be great, but they stopped after Nemet completed his run…or so it seemed, might not be the case though.

      • Wow, you could say that again. I’ve been recently watching Battle Fever J with Nemet’s subs and the number of missing lines on episode 33 (a pretty important one, since it involves a dramatic casting change) is just staggering.
After googling for an alternative, I stumbled upon the following blog. Apparently, this person is re-doing the subs on Battle Fever J and is currently up to episode 41 :

      • Not point in going Leroy Jenkins when you’re alone and unable to get your foot out of your mouth. At least there are other sites popping up to complete the other series. BTW thanks for the help you did on Changeman.

  7. I’m asking here cause I don’t know where else to ask, but has anyone got Super Sentai World from Hikari-Senshi? The link on their website has been long dead and can’t for the life of me find it anywhere else. If it helps, I was able to get the file name from an archived page: [H-S]Super_Sentai_World[Blu-Ray][695A30E8].mkv

I don’t know of anyone else aside from TV-Nihon to had subbed this, so if there is another sub of this that I’m not aware of please tell me.

    • I had learn to wait until the members of a fansub group release a disbandment post before believing that they’re dead and if they were dead this fansub group might have came back to life based on how the site looks compared to the last time I was here for fansubs.
